The Great Review-Fest of 2013

My New Year's Resolution for 2013 has been going swimmingly. Packing my lunch for work, it was. And I'd say I've had about an 80% success rate, which isn't terrible. It's enough to keep the balanced tipped positively. Maybe due to the fact that I've never done well with New Year's Resolutions, I'm feeling odd and uncomfortable. I've decided that what I need is a challenge, a proper opportunity to fail. So I've decided to institute...
The Great Review-Fest of 2013.
The JustiFICation:
I began reading fanfiction quite a long time ago, in my personal timeline. I first stumbled upon it at Jenna's Unofficial Harry Potter Fan Club page in early 2000. (Remember that site, old fen?) Since then I've read a lot of fic. Shamefully, I've usually been a very bad reader: devouring wonderful fic without ever giving the writer the praise that they richly deserved. Boo.
The Plan:
This year, I'd like to make up for it. I want to review as many fics as I possibly can, most particularly fics that I've read in the past and loved so much that they have stayed with me, or even compelled me to read them multiple times. Surely they, especially, deserve a little recognition? As a further homage to the fics that reside close to my heart, as well as a way for me to keep track of the relative success of this project, I will be reccing the fics here on my shiny new Dreamwidth as well. Granted, I currently have a following of 0, but who knows who may stumble across me at some point?
The Method:
I'm going to review fics in no particular order. Trying to do it chronologically is not really feasible. I'll have to dig though my old files, but I think that most of what I have read can still be found on the internet. I'm going to try and make some effort to ensure that the author will actually see the review, so I may have to poke around and see if they've begun using a different site to host fic. For stories posted on livejournal, I'm going to try and post using OpenID with my Dreamwidth account. I've never used OpenID before, so we'll see how it goes.
And that's it! Wish me luck!
