20 Books that Influenced Me: Part 2 of 4

Challenge:

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

I'm trying to finish this before the end of Three Weeks for Dreamwidth so we're going for 5 books a day for four days.

Books six through ten:

Lewis Book cover of Mrs. Friby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C O'Brien Book cover of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by JK Rowling Book cover of Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder Book cover of The Rifter Book 1 by Ginn Hale

The color scheme continues!

I watched the animated movie "The Secret of NIMH” when I was younger and loved it. I had no idea it was based on a book. Did you see the movie as well?

I have not watched the sequel. Is it a good movie? So cool that you’re rereading the book. I’m going to add it to my reading list too!

I think it's generally agreed that it's not a great movie lol.

Good to know, then I’d better avoid it :)

I’ll let you know if I read the book!

Dawn Treader was my favorite book in the series, I just love all the strange islands!

I also grew up reading Little House on the Prairie. A couple years ago, I read Prairie Fires by Caroline Fraser, which was an excellent biography on Laura's life and how the politics of the country at the time shaped her life and experiences. My only issue is that I thought the biography focused too much on her daughter.

Definitely some favorites of mine in this batch! I had both Little House in the Big Woods and Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH on my list of 100 foundational books. I ended up picking a different Narnia book (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe), but Dawn Treader was a close contender. I’ve really been enjoying seeing the books people choose and being reminded of books from my childhood.
